A recent article by NuWire Investor, an online Web site for investing tips, ranked the top 10 places to invest in 2007.

And San Antonio came out on top, out of 98 cities nationwide.

The rankings considered population, job growth, home values, vacancy rates and unemployment rates. They also considered affordability, which was determined by comparing median income for the area to average expenses.

San Antonio was given a perfect 10 on its affordability and rent strength, and is the largest city on the list. San Antonio had the second-highest job growth on the list, at 8.87 percent from 2000 to 2006.

Texas is very well represented on the list of the top 10 places to invest, with Garland, Lubbock, Laredo and Fort Worth also making the cut.
