Vintage Oaks at the Vineyard Hosts Free Seminar on
Landscaping with Native Plants June 13

NEW BRAUNFELS, TX – June 3, 2009 – On Saturday, June 13, Vintage Oaks at the Vineyard will host a free seminar on “Landscaping with Native Plants”, the fourth in a five-part series of “Building Green” spring workshops being held at the Bluegreen Communities® master-planned development. Leading the workshop will be Debbie Reid, Arborist for the City of San Antonio‘s Planning and Development Services Department. Participants will learn how to recognize native trees, shrubs and perennials, as well as the many benefits of preserving or planting them in their landscape, which include water conservation, reduced maintenance and cleaner air.  Ms. Reid will unveil a new Landscaping with Natives certification program launched this spring by the San Antonio Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas.  The session will also include a tour of a fully sustainable model home located in Vintage Oaks at the Vineyard and built by co-host Sustainable Homes of Texas.
